Odessa Classics
Odesa, the pearl of the Black Sea, hosted seven music festivals
«Odessa Classics» every June from 2015 to 2021.
Odessa Classics
International music festival
Founded in 2015 by Alexey Botvinov, Odessa Classics is a festival of the highest artistic caliber.
Odessa, often referred to as the pearl of the Black Sea, proudly hosted the Odessa Classics music festival every June from 2015 to 2021. Right from its inception, the festival enjoyed immense success as the leading Ukrainian festival and swiftly secured its place on the European festival map. It featured world-renowned classical music stars such as Daniel Hope, Yevgeny Kissin, Pinchas Zukerman, Joshua Bell, Maxim Wengerov, Mischa Maisky, Matthias Goerne, and Thomas Hampson, along with orchestras from Zurich, Berlin, Brussels, and many other cities.
However, the war brought significant changes, making it impossible to hold a large-scale international festival in Ukraine since 2022. Adaptively, the Odessa Classics found a new temporary home in Europe, where it continued to thrive. Between 2022 and 2025, the festival successfully held more than 60 concerts across seven countries: Switzerland, Estonia, Greece, Germany, Belgium, Poland, and Lithuania.
In 2024, the Odessa Classics celebrated its 10th anniversary.
In 2025, Odessa Classics hosted editions in Greece, Germany, Estonia and Switzerland.
«I am delighted to announce the news of close creative cooperation with the wonderful Odessa Classics festival from 2019. Alexey Botvinov and his team have done a great job in creating this festival in their beautiful historic city. I am incredibly excited and inspired when I think about my musical idols and their role in Odesa’s musical life: Petro Stolyarsky, David Oistrakh, Nathan Milstein, Busia Goldstein, Emil Hillels, Sviatoslav Richter, Zakhar Bron and many others. I look forward to new musical meetings in Odesa!»
