II Odessa Classics International Music Festival

A landmark event of the festival was the grandiose open-air gala concert, which took place on June 10 at the Vorontsov Palace under the arches of the historic Vorontsov Colonnade. For the first time in Ukraine, a similar transparent covered stage was set up for an open-air concert.

The opera singing by Ukrainian performer Olga Mykytenko, the performance by two chamber orchestras—the Belgian one under the direction of Michael Guttman and the Odessa one under the direction of Igor Shavruk—as well as the performance by pianist and festival president Alexey Botvinov, were met with admiration and applause from more than two and a half thousand spectators.
