The V International Music Festival Odessa Classics has concluded in Odessa.

Its creator, inspirer, and organizer is pianist Oleksiy Botvinov. These notes are about the three final evenings of the music forum.
As part of the festival, a truly grand event took place – an open-air concert at the Potemkin Stairs. This was realized by the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, led by chief conductor and brilliant violinist Daniel Hope.

The musician was born in the Republic of South Africa, his parents moved to England, his mother worked under the guidance of Yehudi Menuhin, and the boy’s fate was sealed. Daniel studied with several Russian émigrés, but considers Zakhar Bron his main teacher. This tall, red-haired, charming musician completely immerses himself in the compositions during play, closing his eyes and surrendering to the sounds of his wonderful early 18th-century violin, crafted in Cremona by Giuseppe Guarneri, nicknamed del Gesù…
