Odessa Classics International Music Festival has ended (photo report)
On August 23, 2020, the VI International Music Festival ODESSA CLASSICS concluded.
According to the organizers, despite all the obstacles related to the pandemic, the festival included 12 concerts by stars of the European classical scene, a nationwide competition for young pianists named after Serafima Mogilevskaya, an exhibition by artist Yuriy Yegorov, and a lecture series on the history of classical music.
The safety measures recommended by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (50% venue capacity, mask-wearing, social distancing, and temperature screening) were observed at all ODESSA CLASSICS events: from concerts in the Opera House and Philharmonic halls to the open-air event on the Potemkin Stairs, from rehearsal rooms at the Stolyarsky School to the main hall of the Serafima Mogilevskaya Competition.
The highlight of the festival was the open-air concert on the Potemkin Stairs. For this event, the ODESSA CLASSICS team (for one evening) marked the steps with red crosses to help the audience maintain a safe distance.
