Odessa Classics World Tour

World Tour 2018

For three years, from 2015 to 2017, Ukraine’s largest music festival, Odessa Classics, specialized in “bringing” leading world musicians to our country.

  • In 2018, we were ready for the next step: to introduce the world to Ukrainian musicians participating in the Odessa Classics festival. Ukrainian classical artists have long occupied a place on the world stage, performing with top orchestras and accompanying major stars. However, there are not many soloists representing our country internationally. We want to correct this!

Additionally, a significant part of each concert, alongside global classics, features works by Ukrainian composers. Unfortunately, their works are also not well-known outside our country.

Music is one of the best languages of diplomacy. Concerts by Ukrainian classical stars are one of the most accessible ways to understand the cultural level of our country. The high skill of domestic musicians contributes to the promotion of our country worldwide!

The first concerts of the Odessa Classics World Tour were highly successful in Germany and Switzerland.

📅 March 5-6, 2018, in Bern – at the Swiss Parliament and the Great Hall of the Yehudi Menuhin Forum Bern – pianist Alexey Botvinov, violinist Miroslava Koturovich, and mezzo-soprano Kristina Daletsky (Ukraine-Switzerland) performed.

📅 April 23, 2018 Alexey Botvinov (President of Odessa Classics, piano), Miroslava Koturovich (violin), and Olga Mykytenko (soprano) performed at the Berlin Philharmonie. In addition to classical music lovers, the audience included diplomats from many countries and leading journalists from Germany.

Immediately following the IV Odessa Classics festival, the Odessa Classics Batumi Weekend took place in Georgia with great success.

📅 June 15-16, 2018 in Batumi, the president of our festival, Alexey Botvinov, performed. The concerts featured the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and included music by Sergei Rachmaninoff and living classic Gia Kancheli. Maestro Kancheli himself was present at both concerts and highly praised their performance, greeting the audience from the stage of the packed halls.

📅 October 24, 2018 at the Kyiv National Opera of Ukraine, the “Odessa Classics in Kyiv” concert featured Alexey Botvinov and Burkhan Ochal’s project “Reboot-2,” which was previously presented in the 2018 festival program at the Odessa Opera House.
