INFORMATION ON THE CORONAVIRUS SITUATION
ODESSA CLASSICS 2020 is rescheduled to AUGUST 10-23
This summer, almost all of the classical music festivals have been canceled. The unprecedented global crisis has especially brutally hit the culture not only in our country but throughout the world. However, the main goal of this challenging time for us was to save the festival of this summer. We are sure that the great music should sound, and right now, its value is as high as ever. Based on the announced plans of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on reopening and restoring air travel, we believe that the optimal time for holding the ODESSA CLASSICS festival this year is August. Naturally, the festival will be held in strict accordance with the official instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, not to endanger the health of our audience and the artists.
We managed to save both the number of concerts, all the venues, and 90% of the program. 10 out of 12 performers confirmed their participation and programs (the programs are the same as announced before the epidemic). Unfortunately, there were some replacements - two festival concerts were changed to performances by artists already known and loved by our audience - these will be solo performances by pianists Sebastian Knauer - Piano and Pietro De Maria.
Instead of the Jerusalem Quartet concert scheduled for 9 June, there will be a concert by pianist Pietro de Maria (Italy) - a new date is August 11.
Instead of a concert by the Brussels Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Michael Guttman, scheduled for June 10, there will be a concert by pianist Sebastian Knauer (Germany) - a new date is August 19 .
All previously purchased tickets and subscriptions will be valid for the new dates; the exact detailed program is available on the festival's official website www.odessaclassics.com
The new date for the open-air concert with the participation of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra is August 22, and we hope to hold it, as planned, on the legendary Potemkin Stairs.

And last but not least, Odessa itself is a historical most beautiful city with strong mediterranean charisma and extremly friendly people with open hearts.
Alexey Botvinov, the founder of „Odessa Classics“ is the internationally renowned pianist who achieved special fame for his interpretation of Bach‘s Goldberg-Variations and as an expert performer of Rachmaninoff’s music.
Danel Hope: "Thrilled to announce a closer artistic relationship with the splendid Odessa Classics Festival from 2019. Alexey Botvinov and his team have done a wonderful job of building up this festival in a beautiful and historic city. And it is both extremely humbling and inspiring to think of many of my musical heroes and their role in Odessa‘s musical life: Pyotr Stolyarsky, David Oistrakh, Nathan Milstein, Boris Goldstein, Emil Gilels, Sviatoslav Richter, Zakhar Bron and many more. Looking forward to more music in Odessa!"
