Vitaliy Bilyy
Vitaliy Bilyy is a graduate of the Odessa State Conservatory named after A.V.Nezhdanova, where he has got education in two specialties: Choir Conductor and Opera Singing.
Since 1997, Vitaliy had many concerts and touring as soloist of the Odessa State Choir, and in 2000 he has began his career as an opera singer.The famous Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater was the debut stage, where Vitaliy has perform Giorgio Germont from G. Verdi’s “La Traviata” at first time.
For a short period in the same theater the young baritone sang in operas by Donizetti and Tchaikovsky, such as: “Iolanta” (role of Ibn-Hakia), “Eugen Onegin” (role of Onegin), “Lucia di Lammermoore” (role of Enrico).
In 2001, Vitaliy takes part in performances at the Kiev National Opera, as guest soloist.
Since 2002, the singer was invited to a permanent job in the Moscow theater “Novaya Opera”. After years of work his repertoire is replenished by various leading roles in productions of Russian and European composers; he took part in performances: “La Traviata” as GERMONT, “Nabucco” as NABUCCO,
“Evgeniy Onegin” as ONEGIN, “Tsar’s Bride” as GRIAZNOY, “Les pecheurs de Perles” as ZURGA, “Cavaleria Rusticana” as ALFIO , “Il Pagliacci” as SILVIO, “Snow Maiden” as MIZGIR, “Il Trovatore” as Count Di Luna, P.I.Tchaikovsky’s “The Maid of Orleans” as LIONEL and “Iolanta” as ROBERT. Also took part in shows: “Bravissimo”, “Viva Verdi”, “Opera and Jazz”. Was in numerous tours
with “Novaya Opera” through Russia and Europe.
Since 2004, the international career begins. Among the first to theaters, which invited Vitaly were: Santiago Municipal Opera and Metropolitan Opera, where he was appeared as Denisov from S.Prokofiev “War and Peace”.
At the Metropolitan Opera later Vitaly also sang as Count Di Luna and Shaklovity (from M.P.Musorgskiy’s “Chovanshina”). In Santiago over the years he was appeared as: Enrico (G.Donizetti “Lucia de Lammermoor”), Onegin (P.I.Tchaikovsky “Eugene Onegin” ), Zurga (G.Bizet “Les pecheurs de Perles” ), Marcello (G.Puccini “La Boheme”), Rangoni and Shelkalov (M.P.Musorgskiy “Boris Godunov”), Ezio (G.Verdi “Attila”). However, the singer toured extensively in Russian and Ukrainian theaters, such as: Bolshoi Theatre , Mariinsky Theater, Kiev Opera and native Odessa’s Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Over the past few years to the above list of theaters, where Vitali Bilyy sounds, you can add such stages as: Carlo Felice, (Genova), San Carlo (Napoli), La Scala, Teatro Verdi (Padova), Teatro Sociale (Rovigo), Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Teatro Dell’ Opera Giocosa di Savonna, La Fenice (Venecia), Theatre du Capitole (Tolousa), The New Israeli Opera (Tel-Aviv), Bayerische Staatsoper (Munich), Staatsoper im Schiller Theater (Berlin), Grand Theare de Geneve, San Francisco Opera etc. where he has appeared as Count di Luna(“Il Trovatore”), Miller (“Luisa Miller”), Escamilio (Carmen”), Germont (“La Traviata”), Riccardo (“I Puritani”), Gellner (“La Wally”), Renato “Un Ballo in Maschera”, Macbeth (“Macbeth”).
