The mayor of Odesa met with the famous British virtuoso violinist Daniel Hope

10 June 2021, the Mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, met with the British violinist-virtuoso Daniel Hope.
At the invitation of Oleksiy Botvinov, Daniel Hope has been participating in the International Music Festival Odesa Classics for the fifth year.

The program of the seventh festival includes three concerts: June 9, 10, and 11. Daniel Hope performs with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, which is recognized today as one of the best chamber orchestras in Europe.

On June 11, the Odesa Philharmonic will host the European premiere of the “Double Concerto for Violin and Piano with Orchestra” by the most famous contemporary Chinese composer Tan Dun.
The work was commissioned by the Odesa Classics festival and the San Francisco New Century Orchestra, which is a convincing testament to the high authority of the Odesa music forum.

“I am a great admirer of Odesa. It is an important city for violinists and for me personally. My teacher, Professor Bron, studied with David Oistrakh at the school of Pyotr Stolyarsky, so being here means reconnecting with the past.
